Veshtal, The Insane God of Light
Veshtal is a very old Primordial. And very powerful; if he could even remember that he has powers in the first place.
His name may be Veshtal, though he has no memory of it.
He is completely and utterly insane. He often speaks in gibberish or nonsense. While as old as the universe, he is as innocent as a toddler; he has NO memories of his long years of life. And this is a good thing, because his story is not a pretty one.
While insane, he is completely harmless. The worst he has ever done was bite when cornered. And his power considered... That's pretty minor. He does have sharp pointy canines that can draw blood. Other then that, surprisingly, all he does is run away and cower. It is as if he is actually afraid to fight; but most likely he is just not aware that he is able.
He startles VERY easily.
He has absolutely no memory of his past. He's completely innocent; He has no sense of decency or personal space. He doesn't understand that people should wear clothes - and he doesn't know not to follow one and watch them get dressed or undressed. Of course, such looks are completely innocent; He has no memory of sex. In this respect he is as innocent as a toddler. He barely even knows the difference between males and females. Only that males have deeper voices and girls have funny bumps on their chest and lighter voices. He can not get through his head that males and females don't both have the "dangly bit" between their legs.
His method of thinking is alltogether confusing. Most of what he says or does makes little of any sense at all. He comes to conclusions that make sense to HIM but make sense to no others.
When he woke in the mortal world, he decided he was a mortal; whatever that was.
He sometimes has the delusion that he is a cloud. The reason behind this is that he stumbled and fell into a stream. When he got out, his clothes and hair were soaking wet. He knew that clouds made rain - and he mistook the water for rain. Thus, he was convinced that he is a cloud.
This being said, He REALLY likes clouds. His love for clouds borders on obcession. He has tried to float before; but since he can't remember his powers that just resulted with him landing painfully on his face.
His tail is somewhat like a lamp, and is covered in soft, velvety fur. Short and smooth.
Within the end, there is an orb of light, which shines out from the 'mouth' and the holes circling it.
He is overly affectionate; he clings, cuddles, follows like a lost puppy, and whimpers and yells and cries when alone; like a lost puppy. He sometimes mistakes his tail as a friend, and gets upset when it does not talk back to him. That is, when he's not scaring himself with it. He often forgets it is there, catches a glimpse of it, scares the hell out of himself, and takes off running like hell. Seeing as it is attached, he thinks it is chasing him, and will run and howl unintelligible gibberish until he exhausts himself and collapses many hours later. And more often then not he curls up and cuddles it, forgetting he was afraid of it in the first place.
He has many strange, cute, and sometimes amusing little quirks about him.
As for how he lost his sanity, the story is not a pretty one. Part of it is his age. He is terribly ancient; and it is not uncommon for Primordials to go mad with age. Many turn aggressive and are later killed. This fellow, though, is the harmless and innocent sort of insane.
The main reason, though, is severe trauma. Too much loss, torture, and pain shattered his already delicate state of mind. His insane state comes from being completely broken.
There are times when his thought processes are a bit less clouded., but these lapses do not last long. He has a very hard time thinking straight since his mind is fogged with his insanity.
It all started when he was wandering with his two sons. A newling, and a young Godling. He loved the two. Being a Primordial, they were both born without a sire. And being a sweet and gentle soul by nature, they were his pride and joy. He absolutely adored and doted on them. They brightened his days and made him happy. They soothed his loneliness, and started to fix the fragile shambles his mind was becoming.
Everything was blissful for the lonely god, until he and his two sons stumbled across the Pantheon of a vicious, evil, and power-hungry pantheon.
Primals being very powerful; and he being one, with two young ones he could raise to join him to boot, he attacked out of the blue. Startled, the God of Light was taken down quickly and he and his children taken prisoner.
The two children were used to blackmail him into complete obedience; and he was beaten, tortured, and left in a small cell completely alone. It was uncomfortable. He tried to escape three times, but each time ended in his two sons being tortured viciously - so he never tried again.
After about 30 years of this, he thought he saw an opportunity; He managed to get out, sneak to his sons, and sneak away with them.
But he was confronted. That was when his older son's life ended. The evil god attacked him, tore his Center from him, and devoured it right there in front of the poor God of Light and his younger son, still a Newling yet.
"You see what your attempt to escape brought you? You killed your own son by running away!" Were the accusations - and of course, he was not allowed to see his Newling son; who was being raised and trained by the vicious pantheon leader.
As such, the child grew up to hate his father; the one that he had once adored and followed.
Thousands of years passed as the Newling aged to Godling, then aged to adulthood.
The God of Light was let go; hesitant, he tried to take his son with him. But there was a catch... His son hated him. Wanted to kill him for vengeance for what he had been through and for the loss of his brother.
That; and killing his father was his coming of age rite. And so the chase began. The grief-stricken Primal refused to fight his son and so ran and ran, never able to stop or rest; when he did, his beloved son would charge with murder in his eyes.
This went on for over 100 years, before they stumbled back upon the realm of the vicious god.
He attacked both of them with terrible fury.
"Your father seeks to kill you by bringing you back here!"
And with these words he attacked.
Even then, the God of Light tried to defend his precious boy; but was too late.
He saw nothing but the accusing eyes of his son boring into him as the evil god tore his center out, killing him on the spot, and devoured the life force thus increasing his own power.
That was when he snapped. Already in a terribly fragile state of mind, what was left of his sanity completely shattered and broke. With no memories left, he fled, running like mad until he collapsed, exhausted, in a mortal world.
It was there that he woke; Not knowing his name, his past, what or who he was.
This being said... it is almost a good thing that he has absolutely no memory of anything before his snap,

This character is adopted. Designed by HomosexualPancakes. The art is theirs as well; I intend to draw him myself soon, but I have gotten a couple commissions drawn of him.
The character himself, though, is owned by me. And I seriously ADORE him.
NO STEALING.
