Draska
Draska are a large carnivorous creature, that can be found in just about any environment. They do not do well in very cold places. They thrive in warm, tropical climates and grasslands, but can survive just about anywhere as long as it doesn't get too cold. Their fur is not thick enough to protect them from the cold, so in places with cold winters they will leave for the winter, though those born in the cold can develop ice/snow magic which allows them to survive.
They live as mated pairs. As soon as the young grow old enough to fend for themselves, the parents will drive them out of her territory. Young ones often form small wandering groups until they find a territory of their own. Since these creatures have 2 to 5 young, the siblings often stick together for a while.
These beasts evolved in a world with a lot of magic, thus they have a small handle on various natural powers. While not intelligent enough to use real magic, they can use their powers to aid in hunting and finding a mate. Their unnatural markings often have something to do with whatever magic is in their bodies. These markings develop as the creature grows up. It often depends on where the creature lives, and what sort of hunting methods it uses.
They are completely monogomous. Meaning, these beasts mate for life, and the mates will viciously protect eachother and stick to eachother's side no matter what. They are fiercely loyal towards their mate.
If one's mate is killed, he or she will never search for another mate, and will often stop eating, waste away, and eventually die.
They are predators, about the size of a great dane, very lean and muscular.
Surprisingly, they actually go after rabbits, rats, mice, and other small prey far more often then bigger prey, due to the fact that they do not have molars that are designed for chewing. They also supplement their diet with some greens, insects, berries, fruits, and nuts when meat is scarce. While their jaw is not good for chewing, their teeth are very sharp. They eat by ripping off chunks of meat and swallowing the chunks. With smaller prey they just swallow it whole. Their necks are very flexible. They run similar to cheetahs, their entire body flexing to add increased speed.
While naturally aggressive, this creature can be domesticated. With their keen senses, they make amazing hunting 'hounds'.
Their vocalizations consist of strange chirping/barking noises, growls, chitters, huffs, chuffs and a strange clicking noise made with their mouth wide open.
