Treyas Dragons
Before you read note that the Treyas Dragon is a CLOSED SPECIES. The only way to get one is to get it from me; And I have several adoptables that are open. You can also order customs from me.
Treyas Dragons were created by Lord Kai, the Druid and Alaeos, the Lord of Life.
Maitreya, the Dragon God, gave them their appearence and personality.
They are shapeshifting, feathery dragons, with some scales on velvety, soft skin. They have wings, but often do not let them show unless they need them.
They are about the length of a horse, with a long tail, tipped in feathers. Their manes are also made of feathers. The feathered manes always extend down their backs; though sometimes the feathers are very fine and short. Some, for fashion sense, have the feathers on their backs plucked. Their forepaws are like hands; they have opposable thumbs and are able to handle items in both forms. Treyas Dragons are hornless. Their ears are also rimmed with feathers, almost like a Caracal's tufts. Treyas are very lean and long in build, taking after the eastern dragon.
Humanoid form has scales, digitgrade, and feathers instead of hair. They have wings, and feathery ears. While humanoid, even human form is very draconic.
The colors of the dragon and human form are the same.
Racial Features:
Treyas are naturally very peaceful beings. They would rather negotiate; they rarely fight unless defending themselvse or their young. While weak in combat, Treyas are natural magic-workers and healers. Treyas are very calm and easy-going, hard to rouse to anger, but curious and love learning and experiencing new things.
It is VERY rare for them to be aggressive. Since they are created, they have no evolutionary ancestors.
The Treyas is among the only species of dragon that do not eat meat. They eat fruit mostly. They CAN eat meat, but they prefer not to. Treyas are not hunters.
Treyas dragons are mammals; unlike other sorts of dragons.
Females have two small teats located on the lower area of their groin (Horse-like). Normally these are only two little nub-like nipples, but females nursing young get bigger and engorged with milk.
Treyas give live birth, and have 1 to 2 young. 1 is most common.
Treyas are very long lived. They live for about 1000 years; thus breed very slowly.
Genitals are external and mammalian. Males have sheaths; oddly textured penises with a knot, and ridges, and a tapered, pointed head. Like canines, they become tied during intercourse.
Treyas do not have a cloaca. Despite the scales, they are not at all reptilian.
Bodies are covered on smooth, short fur, like velvet in texture. Body temperature is generally around 105-106 degrees f.
Strengths: Treyas are very fast. They can fly, though only when their wings are out.
*Note that exceptionally powerful mages and older Treyas are able to fly without their wings.
Treyas have a natural grasp on magic, and are VERY good at creating shields and wards.
Also note that combat spells do not come naturally, and Treyas must work VERY hard to learn such spells.
Weaknesses: Treyas are peaceful. They are not natural fighters. This being said they prefer to create wards and flee. They take after their creator in this sense. They generally worship and honor Maitreya over any other deity; even though he is not the world's chief deity. The two main gods are ok with this, since they did help Maitreya create the species.
Most common colors are blues and greens. Yellows are also common.
They usually have a lighter, duller colored base color, with vibrant scales and feathers.
Brightly colored manes are common.
White scales and manes are extremely rare but do show up on occasion.
Black manes or scales are even rarer then white.
Black bodies are also extremely rare; and those that resemble the Creator are often considered holy and are taught by the High Priests and kept in the temples. Those that resemble Maitreya himself are extremely rare.
There is a male and female example down below.
Males and females are similar in build and color. Males are larger, females are finer in build.
Human form has the clear sexual dimorphism.
Their manes and tails are ALWAYS made up of feathers, with no exceptions. While some can have feathers that are very thin and fine, mimicking hair, they are still feathers.
Their feathers vary in texture, length, and flexibility. Some have long, fine, flowing feathers.
Some have a whole lot of small feathers, or a few large ones.
Tails and manes vary greatly.
